We're hiring

Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer
(Symfony / Ansible)

Build and operate the platform behind 10,000+ Odoo instances. Symfony/PHP control plane, Ansible automation, Linux at scale.

Remote or Brussels-based · Full-time · $150,000–$180,000/year

About the role

Work across both platform and infrastructure, at real scale.

At Cloudpepper, we build and operate the platform behind 10,000+ Odoo instances. Our control plane is built with Symfony/PHP, our automation runs on Ansible, and the infrastructure underneath is Linux, PostgreSQL, and Nginx.

This is not a pure infrastructure role. We're looking for a senior engineer who can work across both platform and infrastructure: building backend platform features, improving automation, and owning the reliability of production Odoo environments at scale.

What you'll do

  • Design and maintain the Ansible-driven automation behind provisioning, deployment, scaling, backups, and restores
  • Own core parts of our Linux production infrastructure, including performance, scaling, failover, and replication
  • Build and extend platform features in our Symfony-based control plane
  • Be the person who handles production issues when they escalate past support
  • Work directly with the founders on architecture and priorities, with no product manager layer in between

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on background in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure-heavy backend roles
  • Deep experience with PHP/Symfony
  • Comfortable in Linux administration at a production level
  • Fluent with Ansible and infrastructure automation
  • Production experience with PostgreSQL and Nginx: performance tuning, debugging bottlenecks under load, and designing setups that stay reliable at scale
  • Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
  • Comfortable in Python for tooling and automation
  • Able to debug across application, database, automation, and infrastructure layers
  • Self-directed, takes ownership in a small team
  • Writes clearly: design docs, incident postmortems, async updates that don’t need a follow-up call
  • Familiarity with Go and Odoo is a plus

Why join us

  • Remote-first flexibility, with the option to work locally from Brussels
  • High ownership and direct impact on a platform used by thousands of businesses
  • A small, fast-moving team with very little bureaucracy
  • Compensation: $150,000–$180,000/year

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Flexible working hours
